Sublimation Section Updates

The EnMart website is constantly a work in progress.  We’re always tweaking things to improve our customer experience.  One of our most recent reorganizations has been to the sublimation blanks section of the website.   In the past our listings of blank products for sublimation were contained in one long category.  When we first started,  and carried a smaller array of products,  that arrangement worked fairly well,  but as time has gone on it’s become a bit cumbersome.  Clearly a reorganization was needed.

The sublimation blanks category has now been divided into subcategories by type of blank.  This means, for instance,  if you were looking for mugs for sublimation,  you’d click on the link for the drinkware category.    If you wanted sheet stock for sublimating your own nameplates,  then you’d select the sheet & roll stock category.   The idea is to group the blanks we sell into logical categories and eliminate the paging through and scrolling that was necessary in the past.

We have also updated our social media sharing feature for all EnMart products.  Now,  under the listing for each sublimation blank,  you will find icons for sharing that product on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest.    Obviously,  we love it when our customers share what they’ve bought,  and also when they share with us and their friends and fans what they’ve created with the EnMart products they purchase.    Also, please feel free to let us know what you’ve done with our products on our Facebook page.

Valentine’s Day Gifts

As most of you probably already know,  Valentine’s Day is coming up next week.   If you sell any sort of gift items,  or if you simply want to make a Valentine’s Day gift for someone you love,  sublimation offers lots of options.     The best part about a sublimated Valentine’s Day gift is that it can also be made personal,   which may well give it more meaning for the receiver.   If you’re looking for some ideas for Valentine’s gifts to sell in your shop,  or an idea for a gift for your own Valentine, here are some thoughts.

Remind your Valentine they always have your heart with heart coasters or heart ornaments.

If your Valentine has just gotten a new job or a promotion,  celebrate by giving him or her a personalized business card holder.

Create a great gift basket for the coffee or tea drinker in your life.  Buy that person’s beverage of choice and top the whole thing off with a personalized mug.

If you have a favorite vacation memory or a photo that holds special meaning,  put it on a jigsaw puzzle.  Once the puzzle is put together, you can shellac it and frame it and hang that special memory on a wall.

A jewelry box is always a great gift.   Especially if there’s something special and sparkly inside it.

If you and you Valentine have a favorite beverage you like to share,  create a personalized beer mug or shot glass.  Add a bottle of your preferred beverage and you have a lovely gift.

We’re A Sublimation Nation

When you really stop and think, it doesn’t take long to realize the sublimation is everywhere.  Just looking at my desk,  I can see a sublimated mousepad,  a sublimated coaster,  and a sublimated mug.  If I moved a little further afield,  I could find sublimated shirts,  sublimated tiles,  and sublimated signs.  You could, of course, make the argument that EnMart sells sublimation supplies, and our parent company does sublimation,  so we’d naturally see more sublimated items than normal,  but I don’t think the fact that we do sublimation means we have more sublimated items than most people.  Sublimated goods have become so popular, and the types of sublimation blanks available have become so numerous,  that you can find a sublimated product almost anywhere you look.

The proliferation of sublimated products is good news for those who already sublimate or are thinking of going into sublimation.   There are many markets available for sublimated goods,  from the local gift shop, to schools, corporations, and individuals looking for a unique, personalized gift.  The barriers to entry are also relatively low.  EnMart offers a package which will give you everything you need to create a sublimation transfer for the low price of $399.99.   Add a heat press and some suitable sublimation blanks and you’re set to sublimate.

We get asked a lot why people who don’t currently sublimate should consider adding that option to their businesses, and the simplest answer we can give is the point I’m making here,  sublimation is everywhere.  There are a lot of potential markets and a lot of options when it comes to sublimation.   Some people have been very successful settling into a niche and only sublimating certain types of items.   Other people offer it as an add on service to corporate clients, who may want a few mugs or awards to go with the new embroidered shirts they just ordered.  Photographers can expand their sales prospects by offering the pictures they take on a tile or a mug.  Whether you look at sublimation as a way to bring in a little extra money,  or you center your business around it,  it is likely you can find a market for the goods you sublimate.

If you’re considering adding sublimation to a current business,  or if you want to center your business around sublimation,  we’d be happy to answer any questions and help you figure out which is the right path for you.   Feel free to contact us at any time for information,  advice and support.

Thinking Outside the (Sublimated) Box

One of the fun things about sublimation is that it allows you to be creative.  There are a wide array of products that can be sublimated and if you use a little ingenuity,  you can add even more items to the list.    Take, for instance,  dark garments.   We all know sublimation ink is only suitable for printing on light garments,  which would seem to indicate that putting a sublimated design on a dark shirt would be an impossibility.   The impossible becomes possible, however,  when you consider sublimating a large patch or square of polyester material and heat sealing it to the garment.   Suddenly, any dark garment can be sublimated.

Publicizing your sublimation business is another way to think outside the box.  Instead of handing out standard business cards,  hand out bookmarks or key chains sublimated with your company information.  A mini license plate may be another good business card substitute.   If you’re attending a Chamber of Commerce event or any type of business gathering,   a business card substitute that showcases your work and stands out from the pack can be a very useful tool.

You should also remember that the publicizing of your business doesn’t have to stop with the business cards you hand out or the clothes you wear.   As many people who work with vinyl can attest,  your car can become a roaming billboard for your business.     A personalized license plate can advertise your company name and URL.     A car flag can make a very eye catching banner advertisement for your business.  Even your car keys can advertise what you do.  Create a unique key chain and watch people ask what you do every time you pull out your keys.

Finally,  don’t forget that sublimated goods also make great client gifts.  Sublimate a pet bowl with your client’s company logo and fill it with candy or nuts.    Create a personalized canvas bag for a local boutique.    Present your best customers with a great customer award using a sublimated plaque.   There are a variety of items that can be made into unique and fun client gifts,  which will not only delight your clients but serve as a great advertisement for your business.
